Kevin had a 20 year career in exploration where he held operational and senior management roles in CRA and then Rio Tinto, including minerals exploration in Australia, China, Russia, Philippines and PNG, as well as oil and gas exploration in Australasia.

Kevin is currently executive director of the Minerals Tertiary Education Council, within the industry’s peak body, the Minerals Council of Australia. He is a director of the Cooperative Research Centre for Landscape Environments and Mineral Exploration and a member of the Minerals Industry Advisory Committee, School of Mining Engineering, University of NSW.

Ken Barassi - FCA, FCPA, FTIA, AFPA, MAICD, Non-Executive Director (Appointed 25 November 1994)

Ken is a practising chartered accountant with over 30 years experience in the consultancy spheres of management accounting, taxation and finance.

Advising clients locally and internationally, Ken has acted for several mining and engineering clients, particularly in the areas of finance, capital raising, and risk management.  He currently chairs the Audit Committee.

Paul Fowler - BSc, MBA, ME, Non-Executive Director (Appointed 1 July 2010)

Paul was recently the founding CEO of Nyrstar NV, a Belgian company which is the world’s largest producer of zinc metal. Prior to this he was COO of Zinifex Ltd, an Australian zinc and lead mining and smelting company. Paul has also been Chief Executive of Fletcher Challenge Forests and Carter Hold Harvey Forests (both companies in New Zealand). Prior to joining Fletcher Challenge in 1996, Paul spent 15 years with BP in a variety of executive roles including crude oil trading, gold mining, strategic planning, petroleum refining and retail marketing. During his career Paul has lived and worked in the USA, UK, Australia and New Zealand. He has dual citizenship in the USA and New Zealand.

Paul graduated from the US Naval Academy with a B.S. (Marine Engineering) and served eight years as a nuclear submarine officer. He also holds an M.E. (Nuclear Engineering) and an MBA from the University of Virginia.

Paul previously served on the boards of New Zealand Refining Company Ltd and Evergreen Forests Ltd and has recently been appointed to the board of Greenstone Energy (all three companies in New Zealand).
